How Cyprus Points are calculated

One-line formula

Rating = (Core + Placements) × Activity × Form

match_pts = W_event × K_opp × R(score) × T × H2H
Core      = sum of your best 25 match_pts (max 8 casual)

Published only with ≥8 scored singles in the last 24 months (Cyprus scene).

W_event — tournament weight

K_opp — who you played

Calibrates players who skip big events: beating someone with real results at strong tournaments is worth more. Mere tourism (entered 1500, zero wins) does not grant a high K.

• ITF / T4A1500 win or R16+ → K = 1.7
• T4A1000 win or QF+ → K = 1.4
• T4A500 win or SF+ → K = 1.15
• ≥8 matches, no strong proof → K = 0.85
• Thin résumé → K = 0.55

R(score) — how the match went

4-6 4-6 vs a strong player is not the same as 0-6 0-6. We build a compete score from sets and games.

• Win: R = 0.85 + 0.30 × (1 − compete) — bagels pay a bit more than nail-biters.
• Loss vs strong (K≥1.15): R = 0.35 × compete (capped at 0.30) — close losses still credit contact.
• Loss vs weak/equal: R = 0 — no points for losing to soft opposition.

T, H2H, Core

• T (age): 0–6m ×1.0 · 6–12 ×0.7 · 12–18 ×0.4 · 18–24 ×0.2 · older ignored.
• H2H: full weight on the freshest 2 matches per pair; further repeats ×0.15.
• Core: only your best 25 match_pts; at most 8 casual/Raketo rows inside that set — volume farming dies here.

Placements

Extra bonus once per tournament for deepest stage (× W_event × time decay): Winner ×3.0 · Final ×2.0 · SF ×1.2 · QF ×0.7 · R16 ×0.25.

Activity × Form

• Activity: shrinks if you have not played recently (down to ×0.5 after 2 years idle).
• Form: compares average points of your last 8 matches to your Core average — not raw winrate. Soft wins barely boost form; quality droughts shrink it (×0.80–1.12).

Why not Glicko?

Glicko rewards winrate in whatever pool you play. Cyprus Points rewards who and where you played, how competitive the score was, and what stage you reached — with an explicit 24-month window and anti-farm caps.
